Software Testing Careers are Growing

Did you know that software testing is becoming one of the hottest jobs in the programming industry? And the choice positions will go to those candidates with formal training and verifiable certification.

The American Society for Quality offers three distinctive software testing certifications: Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE), Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), and the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (SSBB). Other commonly accepted testing credentials include the British Computer Society Information Systems Examinations Board's (ISEB) qualification in Software Testing, and the International Software Quality Institute's ISTQB Certified Tester.

Professionals with some programming knowledge and an understanding of market conditions should secure the largest salaries. According to the Software Testing Institute, the annual average salary for a tester with 3 to 6 years of experience is approximately $85,000.
