Microsoft Certification: Faster Promotions, Bigger Raises

While skills and experience play an important role in the hiring process for most information technology employers, Microsoft Certification can lead to the fastest promotions and biggest raises among technology workers. Industry trade magazine Redmond discovered that Microsoft Certification helped professionals earn an average 3.3 percent raise from 2005 to 2006.

Other computer engineers earned raises of about 0.3 percent during that time period.

Microsoft certifications come in a variety of different types, including the MCSE, MCSD, MCSA and more. You can pass your Microsoft Certification exam as part of a computer degree program or by enrolling in a vocational training program. Achieving a certification, like MCDST or MCDBA, can further increase your chances of getting hired or promoted. Select a certification to learn more about it.
