According to the Idaho Department of Commerce and Labor, the state ranks third on Business Facilities magazine's list of Top 10 Rapid Growth States for the 2000-2010 decade.And the American Electronics Association reports that the Idaho tech industry is holding its own against a national race for technology credibility.
The American Electronics Association also reports that Idaho high-tech employment was up by 146,600 out of 5.8 million workers in 2006. Workers in the industry earned an average wage of $61,900; that's 103% more than the state's average private sector wage. Top companies offering opportunities for graduates include Micron Technology, Inc., AMI Semiconductors, Bechtel BWXT Idaho, and MPC Computers.
