First, the state is 18th in the US for overall number of technology employees, as well as 21st for average technology earnings. Also, tech professionals earn an average of $27,939 more per year than other private sector employees. The Arizona state site reports that high-tech employment is led by software and computers, architectural and engineering services, and telecommunications. Major technology employers in capital city Tempe include Freescale Semiconductor, Google, and Insight Enterprises, Inc. Fully-accredited certifications and degrees can be earned through on-campus and online programs.
