Founded as Florida Programming and Educational Center, Inc., the College’s first classes began in September 1982 in Miami, Florida. In 1990, the School started using the name Florida Computer and Business School. Through the years, the school has grown and expanded with additional courses and programs to match student skills with the needs of the computer industry and business sectors.
In 1999, the School became a Microsoft IT Academy. The School opened its second campus in January 2000, in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The West Palm Beach Campus opened and started classes September 2002. In 2002 the College was awarded collegiate status by the Florida Commission for Independent Education. The Commission for Independent Education also approved the College’s curriculum for Allied Health Medical Programs.
In May 2003, the College changed its name to Florida Career College.
Florida Career College is an authorized training and testing center for many professional certifications in the computer industry. We are a Microsoft IT Academy, Authorized CompTIA Training Provider and Authorized Prometric Testing Center.

Enter the exciting and creative field of web site design and programming. Learn the skills to design and publish web sites for business. Courses cover topics such as web design software, web languages, graphics, and animation. - Computer Graphics and Animations
Students start by learning the fundamentals of computers, and are introduced to the area of 2D and 3D modeling and animation. Students will train to use Alias/Wavefront's Maya 3D software package. Students will prepare a high quality demo reel. General education classes in English and Speech/Presentation Techniques prepare students for the business environment.
Allied Medical Programs
- Medical Coding and Billing Specialist
Upon completion, the graduate will possess a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, and basic medical coding and billing skills. The program includes courses in medical documentation, translating this into numerical codes, and assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes using universally recognized coding systems. - Medical Assistant Technician
Upon completion, the graduate will possess a working knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, basic medical office procedures and clinical medical assisting skills. Students will learn front office procedures such as handling patient accounts and records, word processing, and scheduling of patients. The students will also learn back office procedures such as taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, and performing selected diagnostic tests as directed by the physician. The medical assistant technician will also learn basic medical laboratory and X-ray procedures.
