Adobe Certification: ACE and ACP

In the Adobe certification family, there are two types of professional accreditation you can choose. The ACP, or Adobe Certified Professional credential, recognizes proficiency on one Adobe product. The products in which you can be certified include Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 Developer, Macromedia ColdFusion MX7, Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 Developer, Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Developer, or Designer. The ACE or Adobe Certified Expert credential has three options for certification. These are the ACE, the ACE Specialist, or the ACE Master.

ACE Certification

You can attain certification on any single product, including: Adobe Acrobat, After Effects, GoLive, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, or Premiere. Each of these requires successful completion of only one exam.

ACE Specialist Certification

Alternately you could pursue a specialist track which recognizes proficiency on the product producing to a given media. The types of media specialization are print, Web, and video. To achieve the ACE Print Specialist, you need to successfully complete the Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Professional Print Production exams, plus one elective. The elective choices are Photoshop or Illustrator. The ACE Web Specialist path requires the Adobe GoLive or Macromedia Dreamweaver and the Adobe Photoshop exams, plus either Adobe Acrobat Professional Print Production or Illustrator. To achieve the ACE Video Specialist designation, you need to complete the Adobe After Effects, Premier, and Photoshop exams.

ACE Master Certification

The coveted title of ACE Master is granted to individuals who have indeed mastered an entire suite of Adobe products.
