A 2010 report from nonprofit TechAmerica dubbed Puerto Rico the 39th largest cyberstate due to the fact that the 28,700 high-tech industry workers are employed here. With a total payroll of $1.2 billion,  these workers are well compensated for their skills. In fact, the report notes that these workers bring home 69 percent more than the average private sector worker.
