About Us

Collins College was formerly known as Al Collins Graphic Design School. Prior to 1997, Al Collins Graphic Design School emphasized programs in the Visual Communication fields of study, such as graphic design, digital video, computer graphics, and computer animation. Since 1997, programs in Information Technology fields have been implemented, such as Computer Networking. The new name better reflects our present and future program offerings.

Collins College in Arizona is committed to the technical training, development, and preparation necessary for our graduates to succeed in the areas of Visual Communication, Animation (such as 3d animation), Personal Computer Network Technology, and Web Design. Our school lays the foundation for a successful educational experience with industry-current equipment, an experienced and dedicated staff, and a curriculum that is continually reviewed by our active Advisory Committee.

Admissions

Students should apply for admission as soon as possible in order to be officially accepted for a specific program and starting date. To apply, students should complete the Application Form and bring it to the school or call for a priority appointment to visit the school and receive a tour of its facilities.

All applicants are required to complete a personal interview with an admissions representative. Parents and spouses are encouraged to attend. This interview process helps determine the applicants interest and eligibility.

Once an applicant has completed and submitted the Application and Enrollment Agreement, the school reviews the information and informs the applicant of its decision. If an applicant is not accepted, all fees paid to the school are refunded.

Individuals may apply up to one year in advance of a scheduled class start. The following items must be completed at the time of application:

  • attestation of graduation from high school or equivalency
  • request for high school or GED transcript (and college transcripts, where applicable)
  • application/enrollment agreement (if applicant is under 18 years of age it must be signed by parent or guardian)
  • financial aid forms (if applicant wishes to apply for financial aid)
  • payment of application fee (non-refundable unless applicant is denied admission)
  • letter of intent

Prospective students must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. To demonstrate evidence of high school graduation or equivalency, the school must be provided with (1) an official high school transcript or GED scores or certificate or (2) an attestation, signed by the student, stating that the student is a high school graduate or equivalent.
