Oracle Training: Hard Work, Big Payoff!

Information technology work experience comes with time, but Oracle certification puts IT professionals on the career fast-track. For computer jobs in database administration, investing in Oracle training and certification pays dividends.

Oracle Training and Certification

Information technology training is not a "nice-to-have" in the computer industry - some computer jobs depend on it. Training is a must, especially for certifications like Oracle. Some information technology training exams for Oracle certification require an entire day's work, or even two days.

Some Oracle certifications require passing numerous exams as well. To be certified as a database administrator for Oracle 8i, for instance, you must pass 5 exams:
  • SQL and PL/SQL
  • Architecture and Administration
  • Backup and Recovery
  • Performance Tuning
  • Network Administration
The stakes only get higher as you progress through Oracle's information technology training, too. Oracle 9i certification is available for different levels of computer jobs, from Certified Associate (OCA), to Certified Professional (OCP), and Certified Master (OCM).

Oracle Training is Tough, but Worth It!

Information technology training for Oracle is hard work, and can be expensive. (Oracle University charges as much as $2,000 - $3,000 for a single course). Time and cost savings can be realized, however, by pursuing third-party schools for Oracle certification. Many computer jobs allow for tuition reimbursement, too, lowering or eliminating the total expense.

Having "Oracle Certified Associate" or "Professional" can be priceless, however. For some jobs it's a requirement, and for others, it sets candidates apart from the competition. Better job opportunities with better salaries are often the worthwhile results of Oracle certification.
